Week 4 Reminders
Our swimmers did great at their first meet vs. Hallsley. We are so proud of all the progress in the pool and can’t wait to see how our Sea Dragons perform at our first home meet. Thank you to everyone who helped to make our Pancake Breakfast a success as well!
2nd Meet - June 17 Magnolia Green Vs Hampton Park
Our 2nd regular season meet is set to begin at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, June 17th. This is also our fundraiser to support the McNew Family. T-shirts that were pre-ordered will be available and we will have other items available for purchase. Cash or Venmo only for these items. All information about the Hampton Park meet is available here. Heat sheets will also be posted on this page on Sunday evening.
**Magnolia Green 8U Relays**
- Coaches will start lining up 8U relays immediately after warmups on Tuesday evening. If your swimmer is in an 8U relay, remind them to stay on the pool deck after warmups.
- Our coaching staff and Clerk-of-Course will handle lineup logistics.
- If your swimmer isn’t participating in warmups but is in a relay, they need to report to the Clerk-of-Course after Magnolia Green warmups.
- If a swimmer leaves after warmups and misses their relay, coaches will not be able to track them down, and they will be replaced in the lineup.
Swim Clinics
If you're looking to refine your breaststroke and butterfly technique, join us this week on June 14th for our first breast and butterfly clinic. Spots are still available for the clinic this week on June 14th.
Registration for all clinics can be found here—each clinic is $20 per swimmer. Don’t miss out on these valuable training opportunities!
Practice Schedule Week of June 16th - June 20th
7:30am to 8:15am (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri)
8:30am to 9:15am (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri)
9:30am to 10:15am (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri)
4:45pm to 5:30pm (Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri)
6:30pm to 7:15pm (Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri)
If your swimmer is unable to attend their assigned time slot, they must not join a different session, as make-up practices are not available. There is no need to notify us if they will be absent. The Sea Dragons recognize and celebrate Juneteenth this week! Since schedules may vary for this holiday, we will be holding a fun practice during regular practice times. You're welcome to join us as usual, but if you have other plans, we encourage you to keep them and celebrate this important day.
Please do not approach coaches during practice. If you need to speak to a coach, please do so before or after practice.
Regular Season Meets
-All regular season meets are now open to declare your swimmers! Please see the Swim Meet 101 section under Meets & Events on our website to learn how to declare your swimmers.
Swim Caps & T-Shirts
We will continue to pass out caps this week to swimmers who did not receive their caps last week. Each swimmer will receive one swim cap. If the cap is lost or damaged, a replacement must be purchased for $15 per cap. To keep them in good condition, please store them safely and use them only for swim practice. Cash or Venmo will be the only payment option for replacement caps. We will begin passing out T-shirts next week during your swimmer’s practice time slot. Please write your name in your swimmer’s shirt so if it is lost it can be returned. We do not have extras.
Volunteering Note
When signing up to volunteer, each individual must have their own account. If only one guardian has an account, they will not be able to register for two first-half slots. All jobs for our 6 regular season meets are open. Don’t forget that each family must serve 3 meet halves to avoid being charged at the end of the season per the volunteer contract agreed to upon registration. If you have any questions on volunteering, please email Cori Bennett, our Volunteer Coordinator at [email protected].
Time Standards & Champs
Time standards for this season can be found here. Swimmers will need to swim in at least 2 regular season meets as well as earn a qualifying time for their age and stroke in order to participate at CHAMPS in July. More information about that will be available later. Remember that we are a yards pool but often swim in a metered pool.
Looking ahead…
Declarations for our third meet of the season—our second home meet!—are due by 11:59 PM on June 19th. Join us on June 24th as Magnolia Green takes on Queensmill. After warmups at this meet, we will be taking our team picture with swimmers wearing their 2025 Sea Dragon Shirts.
If your swimmer receives a gold or silver time, those caps will be available to pick up at our Hampton Park meet on June 17th. They will NOT be distributed before. If your swimmer receives a gold or silver cap, that is their cap for the season. See the time standards here. Make sure when looking at times you are differentiating between yards and meters times. If the cap is lost or damaged, a replacement must be purchased for $15 per cap. To keep them in good condition, please store them safely and use them only for swim practice. Cash or Venmo will be the only payment option for replacement caps. Ribbons from the Hallsley meet will also be distributed at the Hampton Park meet on June 17th. A volunteer will be with the ribbon boxes at the Hampton Park meet distributing ribbons and caps for each half. Please remember, not every swimmer will receive a ribbon or a cap. If there is not a ribbon or cap in the box, your swimmer did not receive one. If you believe there is an error, please contact us.
Remember to check the website frequently for the most up to date information. These weekly emails will be posted under the Recent News Section of our website.
