CHAMPS Update

SwimTopia Information - Please note that the information displayed in SwimTopia is not accurate for this meet. There will be no results published in SwimTopia during the meet. All results will be found here at the conclusion of each session and no later than Tuesday.

CAL Website - Please remember that the CAL website contains the most up-to-date Championship Meet information, including the heat sheets, timelines, seating map, warm-up schedules, and all meet documents. Results will also be posted on the CAL website.

Please note that the Session 4 warm-up schedule has changed. Our swimmers in Session 4 are now warming up at 1pm.

Magnolia Green on deck seating - Please see attached map. Swimmers in sessions 2, 3 and 4 will be responsible for getting themselves to the pool deck and to where our team is seated. Parents will not be allowed on deck.

Session 1 Procedures & Behavior Expectations - Kim and Taera will be stationed in the lobby and will escort swimmers to the pool deck for Session 1. Parents will not be permitted to drop off swimmers directly at our spot on the deck. This also applies to siblings who are not swimming in that session. Please remind your swimmer to be on their best behavior throughout the meet. With nearly 50 swimmers in Session 1, we need everyone focused, respectful, and following instructions. Swimmers who are not behaving appropriately will be sent home.

8U & 9/10 Pickup - When your swimmer has completed their last event, please use the OUTSIDE doors near where we are sitting to pick up your swimmer (see attached map). Parents will pick up at the doors from the OUTSIDE. **Please make sure your swimmer is not in a relay at the end of the meet before leaving.**

10 & Under Swimmers

To help our Clerk of Course volunteers move swimmers efficiently, please have all swimmers 10 & under arrive with the following information clearly written on their back left shoulder:

  • Swimmer's name
  • Event number
  • Heat
  • Lane

**Please do this BEFORE dropping your swimmer off.**

Officials & Timers - Stroke & Turn Officials and Timers will be called over the loudspeaker for their pre-session meetings. Please listen for those announcements and ensure your volunteers report promptly.

Please Help Keep SwimRVA Clean - Remember, we are guests at SwimRVA. Please help keep the area around your team's seating section clean throughout the day and before you leave each session. Let's leave the facility looking as good as we found it.

8 & Under Reminder - Please make sure your youngest swimmers use the restroom before reporting to the Clerk of Course. We had several accidents last year, and taking a quick restroom break beforehand can make for a much better experience. Please have your child go to the bathroom before you drop them off with Kim & Taera.

Food & Fun - In addition to the SwimRVA concession stand, we'll have a few special treats available throughout the meet:

  • King of Pops will be on-site during Sessions 1, 2, and 3.
  • O'How Sweet Cotton Candy will be there during all four sessions.
  • Reflected Visions Photography will be set up in the front lobby for anyone who would like photos with their medals, ribbons, teammates, or friends. Photo galleries will be uploaded to the CAL website by session following the meet.

**A quick reminder that the Sea Dragons and CAL cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items at CHAMPS. Please help your child pack thoughtfully and remind them to keep an eye on their belongings during the meet. Additionally, all swimmers should be reminded that other people’s belongings are off limits at all times. **
