Week 6 Updates
Hallsley Meet Recap - Hallsley meet results can be found here. Great job Sea Dragons! Thank you to our swimmers and volunteers who hung around and helped us finish strong. As a reminder, if your swimmer is assigned to a relay, they must remain at the meet for the relay. Relays depend on every swimmer being present, and a missing swimmer means the entire relay cannot compete. Please be sure to mark your swimmer’s relay availability in the declarations.
Poseidon - A huge thank you goes out to Ted from Poseidon for running our morning practices this past Thursday.
Sponsor Spotlight - Mawusi Events - Did you love the balloon arch from our Racing For First Responders Meet? If so, Dzigbodi Sewordor, a proud Sea Dragon mom from Mawusi Events has you covered. If you're looking to create an unforgettable experience for your next event, Mawusi Events would love to help bring your vision to life!
CHAMPS Declarations - CHAMPS declarations are open! Time standards for qualifying for CHAMPS can be found here. Swimmers must swim in 2 regular season meets to qualify and achieve a qualifying time. If you are not able to select an event for your child to swim at CHAMPS, that means they have not yet qualified. Be sure to differentiate between the meters times and the yards time. Our pool is a yards pool but every other pool we swim at this season will be a meters pool with the exception of CHAMPS at the end of the season. CHAMPS declarations will close July 14th at 12pm. Declarations must be submitted by that date. There will be no exceptions.
July 4th Parade - The Sea Dragons are joining the Magnolia Green July 4th Parade! On July 3rd, our swimmers will create posters after practice to help us gear up. We can’t wait to see everyone bring the Sea Dragon spirit. More information to follow next week.
CAL Championship Meet T-Shirts - The official 2026 CAL Championship Meet t-shirts are now available for purchase! You can place your order here. Please note that all orders must be placed by Tuesday, July 14th, at 11:59 PM. No late orders can be accepted, so be sure to place your order before the deadline. These will be distributed by our team at CHAMPS.
**Team Photo** We will be taking our team photo at the July 7th meet vs. Waveriders. Swimmers will need to wear their team t-shirts they received with their registration. More information to come. Announcements will be made when events are being called to the clerk, and it is each parent's responsibility to listen and send their child at the appropriate time. Parents are not permitted at the clerk of course or behind the blocks at any point. Designated viewing areas will be available for both home and away meets. Relays
Please let the coaching staff know if your swimmer is interested in being considered for a relay. The Waveriders meet relay will be a free relay. Please note that expressing interest does not guarantee placement. Final relay selections are made at the coaches’ discretion.
- 8U relays take place at the beginning of the meet.
- 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, 15-18 relays are scheduled for the end of the meet.
- If selected for a relay, swimmers are expected to stay until their event. Missing a relay without prior notice may affect eligibility for future relays throughout the season. We understand that unexpected situations arise, and some families may need to leave early. If that happens, please notify the coaching staff promptly.
Regular Season Meets - All regular season meets are now open to declare your swimmers! Please see the Swim Meet 101 section under Meets & Events on our website to learn how to declare your swimmers.

Practice Etiquette
Please refrain from speaking to coaches during practice or standing behind the blocks. This is very distracting for both our coaches and swimmers. If you need to speak with a coach or your swimmer needs a time for an event, please use the 15 minutes before practice or the 15 minutes after practice.
Ribbons & Gold & Silver Caps- Ribbons, and any gold or silver caps achieved at the Tarrington meet and any previous meets will be available for pickup starting Thursday morning (July 2nd) during morning and evening practices. If you receive a gold or silver cap and you lose it, a replacement cap is $15. The same applies if you received a regular cap for this season.
Swimtopia App-Download the Swimtopia app and make sure notifications are enabled. We will be using the app to notify of practice changes and any weather-related events. Meet information will also be available on the app. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE PRO VERSION OF THE APP. The free version will suffice for us for the season.
