Welcome to the 2026 Sea Dragon Season. Here are a few reminders as we kick off the season in a few weeks:

Meet the Coaches - May 8th at the Aquatic Center from 5:30-7:30pm. River City Sunset Slush will be there.

Spirit Night at Buffalo Wild Wings - May 13th from 4–7 PM at 12056 Southshore Pointe Dr, Midlothian. Whether you dine in or grab take‑out, just place your receipt in the Spirit Night box. Every receipt helps the Sea Dragons earn a portion of the evening’s sales.

First day of practices: May 18th

Practice Schedule May 18th - May 28th

Ages 11-18 years old- 5:00pm to 5:30pm (Mon-Thurs)

Ages 8 and under - 5:30pm to 6:00pm (Mon-Thurs)

Ages 9-10 - 6:00 to 6:30pm (Mon-Thurs)

**There will be no practice on May 22, May 25, and May 29.

**Please only attend the practice based on your swimmers age as of May 31, 2026**

Morning Options

Ages 11-18 years old-7:30am to 8:15am (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri)

Ages 9 & 10 years old-8:30am to 9:15am (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri)

Ages 5-8 years old- 9:30am to 10:15am (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri)

Afternoon Options

Ages 5-8 years old-5:00pm to 5:45pm (Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri)

Ages 9 & 10 years old-6:00pm to 6:45pm (Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri)

Ages 11-18 years old-7:00pm to 7:45pm (Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri)

Swim shop - Our swim shop will be open all season long! Any items purchased now through the end of the season can be picked up at the Midlothian Swim Shop located at 6800 Deer Run Drive (behind Q Barbeque on Hull Street).

Name our Mascot! - Our mascot has a fresh new look this year, and now he needs a new name! Share your best name ideas through May 15th. We’ll narrow it down to the top three and vote during the week of May 18th. The swimmer with the winning name will earn a FREE parking pass for our first home meet.

Social Committee Signup - We still need volunteers to help run our social committee so our Sea Dragons can have fun all summer long. Sign up here. Reach out to Taera at [email protected] if you have any questions about these positions.

Parking Spot Raffle - We will be auctioning off parking passes for each home meet this season.

Raffle tickets will be sold during practices in the week leading up to each meet. Tickets must be purchased at the pool. More details will be shared soon.

Mock Meet - This season, we will host two mock meets—one for swimmers with morning practice times and another for those with evening practice times. Swimmers only need to attend one of the mock meets. Minis are not required to attend the mock meet. 

Morning Mock Meet – June 2rd (Morning Slot)

• Time: 8–10 AM
• Swimmers with morning practice times who do not have recorded times are required to attend. This includes:
  • Swimmers swimming 50 yards for the first time.
  • Swimmers in their first year on the team, regardless of age.
  • Swimmers without a time listed next to their name.
• If your swimmer already has times, they get the morning off! The mock meet will replace practice for that day.

Evening Mock Meet – June 2rd (Evening Slot)

• Time: 5:30–7:30 PM
• Swimmers with evening practice times who do not have recorded times are required to attend. This includes:
  • Swimmers swimming 50 yards for the first time.
  • Swimmers in their first year on the team, regardless of age.
  • Swimmers without a time listed next to their name.
• If your swimmer already has times, they get the evening off! The mock meet will replace practice for that day.

***Declarations for the mock meet will open on May 18th. Please declare your swimmers if you know they need times for the 2026 season. If you have questions about whether your swimmer needs to attend the mock meet, please email [email protected]. We will be needing volunteers for both the morning and evening mock meets. Families can receive 1 meet half credit (towards their 3 season total) for volunteering at the mock meet. ONE CREDIT PER FAMILY for volunteering at the mock meet. You can only work the morning or evening mock meet - not both. These jobs will open on May 26th at 6pm.**

Regular Season Meets

-All regular season meets will open on May 26th. Please see the Swim Meet 101 section under Meets & Events on our website to learn how to declare your swimmers. All jobs for our 6 regular season meets will open on June 2nd at 6pm. 

Minis

Our minis practice will begin this year on June 8th and conclude on July 9th with the Mini Olympics. More information to follow.
